BPM – Business Process Management

An organisation consists of a number of processes – but often with a functional management focus!

It is the sum of processes that delivers the company’s products and services to the customers.

 

William Edwards Deming, one of our time greatest thinkers in management and quality, showed that 85% of the problems in an organization is due to weaknesses in the processes – and not the employees. So leadership is all about improving processes – not just employees.

Management must be able to develop, manage, control and maintain processes – and to a far less extent people! (Wikipedia and The Edward Deming Institute). Business Process Management (BPM) is a core competence in the Lean Six Sigma philosophy and Operational Excellence.
